Hoarfrost River Huskies Ltd.

Join us for a flight seeing trip or use our air charter services. We operate an air charter company with two small bush planes on floats, skis, and tundra tires and can customize all sorts of fly-in outdoor adventures and flight seeing tours of the north. We frequently serve as base camp for researchers, geologists, writers, photographers, and historians.

For adventurous guests, take an expedition from our homestead to the tundra. Our dogteam trips are remote, rigorous, yet comfortable excursions. All guests drive their own dogteam and sled. We keep a large kennel of working sled dogs and have raced competitively in the Iditarod and Yukon Quest.

Our base is located on the northeast tip of Great Slave Lake, 165 air miles from Yellowknife and 210 miles by lake from the nearest road access. Our family of four has lived here year-round since 1987.

Services

Dogsledding

Join us on a dogteam trip between May-November. All participants drive their own sleds. Five to ten days on the trail and one to four people in a group. All trips are custom made to suit your abilities and group size.

Wildlife Viewing

Air Travel

We are ready to fly you where you need to go, winter, spring, summer or autumn.

Flightseeing

Both the Aviat Husky and the Found Bush Hawk are perfect for flightseeing. The Husky holds one passenger and is known for going low and slow, and with the option to open a window or door it is perfect for photography. The Bush Hawk holds up to three passengers for flightseeing. The large windows and lack of wing struts on the aircraft make for a beautiful, clear view of the area you are flying over.

Sightseeing Day Trips

Let us know where you want to go and we can take you. Our base is located at the northeast tip of Great Slave Lake.
