Great Bear Lake Lodge is located on the Dease Arm of Great Bear Lake and is home to the biggest Lake Trout in the world. Each summer 60 and 70 pound Lake Trout are caught and released to fight again. With the help of modern technology, our experienced and professional guides are bringing our guests to more trophy fish every year.
World-class Arctic Grayling fishing is a short boat ride from the lodge and our guides are discovering Pike fishing holes every year that produce monsters over 20 pounds.
Floatplanes are available for you to explore more remote areas and untouched waters. Chummy has boats on remote lakes we haven't fished in over five years. We are always fishing new waters and if you look at the map it is easy to see how this is possible.
The lodge is situated on a heart-shaped peninsula with a view of the lake from every window. The fourth largest lake in North America, Great Bear Lake stretches to touch the horizon like an ocean. The main lodge features a large dining room and lounge, including a fully stocked bar.
The individual cabins surround the main lodge. Each cabin will accommodate between one and eight guests, and are all equipped with a three-piece bath, electric, wood, or oil heat, and 24-hour electricity.
Guest capacity at Plummer's Great Bear Lake Lodge is 46 anglers per week. The lodge offers seven-day trips at $4,995 per trip, plus applicable taxes.
The Tree River Camp
The majority of Great Bear Lake Lodge guests take the overnight trip to the Tree River Camp, which is located 232 miles to the northeast and is only four miles from the Arctic Ocean. With an aqua-blue river rushing through lush green rolling hills surrounded by crested buttes, the Tree River is truly a sight to see.
The rustic camp is equipped with canvas-roofed cabins that sleep four people each, have oil heat, and 24-hour electricity. You are served homestyle meals in the main kitchen, with freshly baked breads and baked treats.
The Tree River is known for its trophy Arctic Char and holds the current 32-pound world record. Each season, several dozen char are caught in the 20-pound range. Most fishing is done by walking the banks of the river and casting into pools. There is an option to fish on your own during the evening, or you can take a boat ride down to the Arctic Ocean for a quick dip and some spectacular scenery.
The overnight visit to the Tree River Camp is available only to those guests visiting Plummer's Great Bear Lake Lodge. The rate for a one-night stay is $995 per guest including air charter, guided fishing and all meals plus applicable taxes.
We have everything to ensure you have an unforgettable business excursion: meeting facilities, audio/visual presentation equipment, satellite phone, internet access and a private 5600 foot airstrip.
