All-Inclusive Fishing Lodges

This all inclusive multi-activity fly-in fishing lodge is located only 15 minutes by float plane northeast of Yellowknife between Duncan and Graham Lakes. Our focus is fishing in the summer time and the fishing here is unforgettable. Maximize your adventure time with our full American plan. All bedding, meals, equipment are provided with the base price. The only items not included are: fishing licenses, liquor and guides. Guides are optional, but, for a nominal charge, our guides will familiarize you with the rugged surrounding landscape. Our boats are 16 foot Lunds with 15 hp 4 stroke engines.

Boat Rentals

Enjoy the lakes and the rivers that surround our pristine wilderness by renting a boat and motor. We also have other rentals available like spin fishing rods and reels, kayaks, canoes and paddle boats.

Fishing Day Trips

Northern pike and lake trout make up the majority of the quarry, but there are also opportunities for arctic grayling and whitefish. The northern pike grow large here and 40"-50" fish have been caught and released. In the early season you will find the largest pike cruising the shallow bays. This is prime time to target them - they readily take floating or shallow running lures and flies. There is nothing comparable to sight fishing for large northern pike in clear shallow water. There are many shallow bays on both lakes as well as inlet streams that offer perfect habitat for large pike.

The lake trout fishing is also great along the steep drops and boulder strewn bottoms throughout the season. The biggest lakes will be deeper in mid summer, but adding weight to deep running lures, spoons or crank baits while trolling will pay off. Also drifting and jigging over ledges or humps will produce savage strikes from trout and this is no time for daydreaming.

Arctic Grayling can be caught in the channel between the Lakes and in the McRae River, so bring your ultra light or fly rod for these beautiful and aggressive fighting fish.

Requirements: fishing gear, fishing license (if you forget we have these at the lodge).

Equipment Provided: boats, motors, fuel, canoe, kayaks, paddle boats and safety equipment.

Transportation: trips begin and end in Yellowknife, NWT. The only access in is by float plane. Packages include float plane transfers from Yellowknife.

Meal Information: meals included. Shore lunch is always a highlight of every trip.

Fly Fishing

Our flowing waters offer superb fly fishing for beautiful arctic grayling. These sailfish of the north are ounce for ounce the toughest fish on the planet. Enjoy a day of catch and release fishing on the McRae or Nicholson rivers. But, we also have grayling within 100 feet from our back deck, so before breakfast or after dinner you can enjoy the sunrise or sunset casting to these beauties.

Northern pike in the spring are very easy to catch on a streamer, mouse or frog imitation. Tease these monsters in the shallows and watch them explode to your fly. The giants will swirl in front of your eyes. You will be amazed at the run after run of a 40" plus "gator" on the end of your fly line.

Housekeeping Lodges

One housekeeping cabin is perfect for families or honeymooners that want a self contained private cabin. This 960 sq foot cabin features a 3 piece bathroom with shower and bathtub, full kitchen, BBQ, large south facing deck, laundry, satellite TV and wireless internet. This one bedroom loft cabin can sleep up to 6 persons and is available for a 15% premium fee. Please ask for a reservation at least 30 days before occupancy.

We have a self guided floating tent camp on a 14x28 foot steel pontoon barge which sleeps up to 4 people. Comes with one - 16 foot boat and motor. Rent by the day or the week. Call us for details. (403) 668 9936

There are 2 lakes to choose from: Graham and Duncan Lakes
2 rivers to fish: McRae and Nicholson Rivers
And many other hidden lakes with pike that have rarely see a lure.

Arctic Grayling

Arctic Grayling, the sailfish of the north. They are the most beautiful of all northern species. The Lodge record is 4 1/2 lbs caught in 1972.

Lake Trout

Lake Trout are the most abundant sport fish in the lake. The Lodge record is 47 inches caught in July 2002.

Northern Pike

Northern Pike are the most exciting fish to catch. The Lodge record is 49 1/2 inches caught in July 2008.

Whitefish

Lake Whitefish are hard to catch but can be seen jumping in the evening.

Birding

Don’t forget your cameras; there is an abundance of wildlife and flora to photograph. Bear, wolf, moose, eagles, owls, muskrats, otters, loons, upland and migratory birds all make their home around the region.

Canoeing and Kayaking

We offer more than just fishing. Outdoor adventure, paddling, nature hikes, photography are all part of the outdoor wilderness experience. Gordon is a certified white water canoe instructor and can teach the basics of padding.

Or if you just want to relax there are places for that too. We have sun decks, beaches, hot tub and library for the traveler who just wants to unwind.

By Air

Charter Air is included in the rates. We use a charter Air Service based in Yellowknife and can order float planes for 3 to 19 passengers to suit your group.

Guided Services

Our fishing trips have the option of being self guided; however, our guides will ensure that you have a truly spectacular experience. The lodge staff will instruct you in basic techniques, give you local tips and point out many locations that produce pike and lake trout. For the first time angler, we recommend a guide for a day or two to help you reel in the fish faster. Guides are available with advance notice and for an additional fee.

Packages

Fly or drive from your home town to Edmonton or Calgary, Canada, where you can catch one of 3 regional jet service air lines to Yellowknife. If you use our business partner, Canadian North Airlines, you will receive our preferred customer rate.

The lodge is about 35 Air miles northeast of Yellowknife on the peninsula we refer to as Pilote Point between Duncan and Graham Lakes.
