Aurora Day Trips

View one of the seven natural wonders of the world, the awe-inspiring Aurora Borealis! The city of Yellowknife is famous for being the best location in the world to view Aurora. We offer our guests a more personalized Aurora Viewing experience. Same day bookings are our specialty. We will pick you up and bring you back to your hotel or B&B. We will bring you out to our island located on the Great Slave Lake approximately 15 km from Yellowknife on the ice road. What a view from the island!! You can still see the city skyline and the lights of the indian village, Dettah off in the distance. The lights act as a perfect background for some great Aurora photography!

Lake Trout

Catch your next personal best Lake Trout with us! Our Full Day (8 hrs) Fishing Package allows us to get to the better spots for Lake Trout. Also incuded in this is a delicious shore lunch prepared by your Dene guides. Plus added attractions include viewing many different species of birdlife particularly the Bald Eagle!

Northern Pike

Ice Roads

Drive on the frozen lakes of Canada's north! Listen to the ice crack, learn how ice roads are made and how they serve as an important transportation link for many northern communities during the winter months.

Snowmobiling

Snowmobile the 9th largest lake in the world! Guests will go on a guided snowmobile tour on the frozen Great Slave Lake and surrounding trails. Guests can choose from a 1, 2, 3 or 4 hour snowmobile tour. Cost: $50/person/hour. Traditional snacks, hot drinks, winter clothing, riding gear and photos of your trip all included.

Wildlife Viewing

View Canadian northern wildlife out in the wild! On many of our adventures, guests may see one or more of the following: buffalo, moose, black bear, fox, muskrat, eagles, hawk, cranes and many other species of birds. Whether it is one of our summer tours or our winter adventures, you will see Canadian northern wildlife in their element!

Wood Bison

Take our Buffalo Viewing Day Trip and experience a truly majestic animal! The wild buffalo can be found in the Mackenzie Bison Sanctuary 2 hours from Yellowknife. We talk about the science of the animal as well as the spiritual significance of the buffalo to our culture.

Sightseeing Day Trips

We offer a number of different sightseeing day trips in both the summer and winter seasons. If you are in town for only for a day or two and want to get a different perspective of Yellowknife, we'll take you on a 1, 2, 3 or 4 hour day tour of Yellowknife. If you only have a few hours to spare? Looking for something simple to do? Come out and let us take you on a guided boat trip on Great Slave Lake! We offer 2, 3 and 4 hour tours. The 3 hr tour includes bush tea and bannock cooked over fire! The 4 hr tour includes a delicious fish fry on one of the many island on the Big Lake! Don't forget your camera

Our guides possess important traditional knowledge about the land and the animals. Guests will get a hands-on experience in our summer and winter cultural workshops such as how to clean fish, make dry fish, traditional bannock, set snares, skin rabbit, beading & sewing, learn Dene Games and more.
