Ice Fishing

Ice FishingIn spring, the ice fishing season heats up. Grab some rays on a quiet lake beside a warm fire, close to a cozy lodge. In April and May, ride to a remote lake on a snowmobile, or travel to your ice fishing vacation by dog team. On the Arctic coast, jig for char in a warm tent, through a hole in the ice. Elsewhere you can fish for trout, pike and pickerel on inland lakes. A warm spring sun, a cozy fire and a warm welcome at a nearby lodge makes for a perfect ice fishing trip. It's a Canadian pastime made legendary in the Northwest Territories.
