Looking for a good fight, or just a great meal? Anglers can fish for more than nine top species in the Northwest Territories.
Visitors and residents over the age of 16 and under 65 require Northwest Territories fishing licences, available by mail, from government offices or at lodges and convenience stores across the territory.
Northwest Territories lodges and guides often provide more than a simple fishing excursion. They can offer an introduction to other activities in this amazing country. Some lodges feature hiking, wildlife photography, wildlife and bird watching, cultural and historical tours. Others provide trap shooting and hunting opportunites. There are lake and river tours. Local airlines offer flightseeing tours.
Cultural experiences top many visitor lists - learning the traditional ways of northern peoples, purchasing unique crafts and art, and connecting with families that have lived in this country for tens of thousands of years, can be a highlight of a memorable fishing trip to the Northwest Territories.
