Looking for a good fight, or just a great meal? Anglers can fish for more than nine top species in the Northwest Territories.
Visitors and residents over the age of 16 and under 65 require Northwest Territories fishing licences, available by mail, from government offices or at lodges and convenience stores across the territory.
Safety First
Our land is both beautiful and unforgiving. Even the most experienced outdoors people should travel with a guide in unknown areas. Your licenced guide is trained in emergency techniques and is familiar with wilderness survival. If you do plan to travel in the wilderness on your own, please let someone know where you are going and when to expect you back, before you leave, so we know where to look for you, if that becomes necessary.
