Looking for a good fight, or just a great meal? Anglers can fish for more than nine top species in the Northwest Territories.
Visitors and residents over the age of 16 and under 65 require Northwest Territories fishing licences, available by mail, from government offices or at lodges and convenience stores across the territory.
Fishing Weather
Our fishing weather is one of our best-kept secrets. In the peak of summer, you can fish all night in 24-hour daylight. The summer temperature on the mainland Northwest Territories hovers around 20°C (68°F) with very little rain. But weather is often unpredictable, so it’s always best to be prepared with a selection of layers to take off or put on.
