Snowshoeing - The Traditions Live On

SnowshoingSnowshoes are the classic invention of northern travellers still used in traditional life on the land. Recently they've become key equipment for the sports-minded - a great way to break trail across a frozen lake or through the forest.

With some practice, you could be ready to break trail for the Rock and Ice Ultra extreme sports race held in Yellowknife in March. And if you think your technique is up to par, join a fun race in a community at carnival time!
