Nahanni Butte (Tthenaago, "strong rock"), is a small Dene community with log houses just south of its namesake. Located at the confluence of the South Nahanni and Liard Rivers, Nahanni Butte is a welcome stop on the final leg of a canoeing or rafting trip in Nahanni National Park Reserve. Community tours can be arranged with advance notice. There are spectacular views of the Nahanni and Liard mountain ranges.
