On the North Arm of Great Slave Lake, the twin communities of Rae and Edzo, now called Behchoko, overlook a landscape of glacier smoothed Precambrian rock. The largest Tlicho community and headquarters for the Tlicho government, Behchoko provides river access to the Marian River system and the Barrenlands. Services include bed and breakfast accommodation nearby, and a restaurant, service station and general store in Rae. Bus, taxi and chartered aircraft connections are available to Yellowknife.
