Lutselk'e - "The Place of Small Fish"

"The place of small fish" refers to the schools of ciscos that once fed the Dene, not the monster pike and trout found on Great Slave Lake. A Chipewyan community on the East Arm of Great Slave Lake, Lutselk'e is known for trophy lake trout, pike and grayling. Minimal accommodation is available, but a lodge and local outfitters offer excellent fishing. Charter flights to Barrenlands destinations and the headwaters of canoe routes can be arranged to connect with scheduled flights from Yellowknife.
