Sachs Harbour – Ikaahuk – "Where You Cross To"

Sachs HarbourThe Northwest Territories' most northerly community is located on Banks Island, home to the world's largest concentration of muskoxen. This is also the headquarters for Aulavik National Park. Local attractions include the wildife – nesting grounds of many species of birds, as well as cultural trips, with Arctic char fishing as a bonus. The Park is a considerable distance from the community and visitors should check in Inuvik if they are heading for the Park and the Thomsen River, one of the most northerly navigable rivers in North America. There is bed and breakfast accommodation in Sachs Harbour and scheduled air service to Inuvik.
