Ulukhaktok – "Where There Is Ulu Material"

Formerly called Holman, this community is home to Inuvialuit printmakers who have a world class reputation. You can join artists' workshops and meet the printmakers. For golfers, the attraction is the annual Billy Joss Open Golf Tournament on a nine-hole tundra golf course overlooking the Beaufort Sea. There's spectacular hiking, too, with views over the Amundsen Gulf. A local tour company offers tundra travel and muskox viewing. There's one small hotel and scheduled air service from Inuvik.
