Dettah - "Burnt Point"

Dettah has been a traditional Dogrib fish camp for hundreds of years and hunting, trapping and fishing still dominate the local economy. It's a 27 km drive by all-weather road from Yellowknife in summer, and in winter, Dettah can also be reached by a 6 km ice road across Yellowknife Bay. There are no overnight services, restaurants or stores.
