N'dilo

Dene who lived in the Yellowknife area remained on Latham Island when gold prospectors arrived. N'dilo grew into a permanent community, home to the Yellowknives Dene First Nation. There are no overnight services, restaurants or stores here, but N'dilo is a vibrant focus of Aboriginal life and residents frequently host cultural events where you can learn about Dene arts, customs and history.
