How to jet north
It's easy to fly to the Northwest Territories. There are direct jet flights to Yellowknife from Calgary (2 hours), Edmonton (1.5 hours), Ottawa (4 hours) and Whitehorse (1.5 hours).
Our busiest airport is Yellowknife which serves as a connection point for flights to other NWT communities. The six airlines that have direct flights into the Northwest Territories are Air Canada Jazz (from Calgary and Edmonton) Canadian North, First Air and Northwestern Air Lease (from Edmonton), Air North (from Ottawa) and Westjet (from Edmonton and Calgary).
Another 16 smaller NWT airlines, in addition to Canadian North, First Air and Northwestern Air Lease, offer scheduled or charter service to smaller NWT communities and to wilderness rivers and fishing lakes.
